3D/4D Ultrasound tomography
The immense contribution of ultrasound on prenatal checkups is widely known. 3D ultrasound is the evolution of the classic ultrasound and found immediate application in prenatal checkup. Ultrasound tomography is a non-invasive, non-radiation medical imaging method. The three-dimensional image (3D) is pieced together from many two-dimensional (2D) images. The 4D imaging is the projection of a 3D image in real time. With a 3D/4D ultrasound you can see the face of the fetus and check specific organs, such as: the cardiovascular system, the nervous system, the urinary system and the gastrointestinal system. This type of ultrasound contributes to the diagnosis of many syndromes: Down’s syndrome, congenital ichthyosis, short rib polydactyly syndrome, Klippel-Trenaunay-Weber syndrome, craniosynostosis related to Apert or Pfeiffer syndrome.
