Cauterization of HPV lesions (condylomata acuminata)
Genital warts or condylomata acuminata are lesions that appear on and around the genital area, they are transmitted via sexual contact and are a manifestation of HPV virus infection. HPV is the modern medical terminology and stands for Human Pappiloma Virus. Genital warts are non-malignant tumors that appear on the skin and vary from tiny (like a small olive or a mole) to pretty sizeable. They can be single or multiple ones in different sizes.
Treatment is aimed at the symptoms and concerns the removal of the warts via cauterisation.
