Hysteroscopy
Hysteroscopy is a diagnostic or operative method. During a hysteroscopy, pathologies that might be found can be removed on site.
It is performed for the discovery of abnormalities inside the uterine cavity. It’s usually recommended for infertility checking, when a patient has dysmenorrhea, when there is inexplicable bleeding inside the menstrual cycle and/or upon indication or suspicion of other pathologies in the cervix, the uterus and the ovaries.
Hysteroscopy provides crucial information about the morphology and the size of the uterine cavity and, by extension, about the quality of the endometrium, the fallopian tubes and the cervix.
What can be diagnosed:
- polyps
- fibroids
- septate uterus (congenital anomalies)
