Intrauterine Device (IUD) insertion

Intrauterine Devices (IUD), are one of the safest ways of contraception. IUDs are devices 2-4 cm, made from flexible plastic or a combination of plastic and metal. They are placed in the endometrial cavity, enabling safe, long-term and fully reversible contraception.

The Intrauterine Device is the most effective birth control method after the pill.

IUDs in the market today are T-shaped and come in 2 types: copper IUDs and hormonal IUDs. The 2nd type contains progestine (a type of the hormone “progesterone”) that gets slowly released through the device to the uterus.

In our private practice, our goal is to guide you to the right choice of IUD by giving you all the information needed and discussing it with you.
